Imaginary Quotes: The Lighter Side of Cordillera Politics

We’ve been too serious here lately so we’re coming up with a “lighter side” post. Help us make this “funner” by sharing your “lighter side” thoughts in the comments section.

Initially, we are coming up with imaginary quotes that we are attributing to our politicians from the Cordilleras. Since these are imaginary quotes, the politicians actually didn’t say these things. Galing lang ito sa aming aktibong imahinasyon. If you are the politician to whom an imaginary quote is falsely attributed, please don’t sue us. Surely you have a sense of humor.

Bill Bilig’s imaginary quotes:

Victor Dominguez: “Oray sino isango yo kanyak, talo pa rin sila. David Daoas who? Jupiter who? My mom did not name me Victor Victorious for nothing.”

Vicsyd Valera: “Oh my God! I might lose to a girl.”

Lawrence Wacnang: “Oh my God! I might also lose to a girl. Di bale mukhang mananalo si James.”

James Bejarin: “Will I become the new patriarch?”

Dante Langkit: “Kung hindi lang ako nakakulong, matatalo ko si James.”

Thomas Killip: “I thought I was a kingmaker?”

Teddy Baguilat (singing): “I’m going back someday, come what may to the capitol.”

Mauricio Domogan (also singing; like J Hudson): “And I am telling you I’m not going. Even though the rough times are showing. There’s just no way. There’s no way. No, no, no, no.”

Mauricio Domogan (praying at the Resurrection Cathedral): “Please God, make me win. I promise not to be GMA’s gaffer anymore. I also promise to speak out when human rights abuses are committed against my kailiyans.”

Solomon Chungalao: “Looks like I’m going to head the totally non-competitive indigenous peoples committee in Congress again.”

Jun Labo: “Malabo na yata akong manalo? But I used to move these mountains with my faith healing?”

Elias Bulut Sr: “Who says you have to have an opponent before you can win?”

Elias Bulut Jr: “Who says you have to have an opponent before you can win too?”

Peter Rey Bautista: “Huh! That Bill Bilig criticized my videos but I’m winning anyways. I will prove to everyone that I can be the ‘Ama ng Baguio’ even if I look young and have a boyish, playful smile. Anyways, if you are an iBaguio, you can get in touch with me here.”

Jack Cariño: Stop the uglification of Baguio (3x). My website is better than Peter Rey’s.

Leandro Yangot: Anya dayta nga Trublue kunana ketdin nga overkill dyay website ko. (Editor’s note: For reference see comments section here.)

Update: Now, here’s your imaginary quotes.

From Anonymous posters:
Joe Molintas: “Adda met gamin inwaras da nga health insurance.”

Victor Dominguez: “Malaking salamat sa inyong lahat and also for accepting my ‘donations’.”

From TruBlue:
Mauricio Domogan: “This TruBlue guy is always harping about my SAL and milliones nga in-lummeng ko kano. Saan nga agpayso dayta, uray no damagen yo ken ni FG ken ni Chavit. Umapal laeng dayto nga TruBlue ta naabak diay pinustaan na. No nakipusta isuna, baka agkakaso isu, coz’ gambling is illegal idtoy Baguio. I don’t like gambling while I’m congressman.”

Jack Cariño: “Awan puso da dagitoy nga Pony Boys, I bought them drinks everyday uray la mabarbartek da, panay ti “Thumbs Up” da pay assuring me a seat as Konsehal, lastog da gayam amin. Make no mistake Pony Boys, the Wright Park is still Carino land, time for guys to move out also.”

Sige na, add your imaginary quotes in the comments section and we will upload them here to the main page. Sali na kayo para kung may magalit na politician na walang sense of humor ay hindi lang kami ang madedemanda hehe. Just one rule: You can be critical but not unkind.

  5. On my man Jack Carino, here goes:
(Awan puso da dagitoy nga Pony Boys, I bought them drinks everyday uray la mabarbartek da, panay ti “Thumbs Up” da pay assuring me a seat as Konsehal, lastog da gayam amin. Make no mistake Pony Boys, da Wright Park is still Carino land, time for guys to move out also). Sana kahit #13 lang para ego booster niya. Di bale, next time okay na.
