Yesterday, 13 October 2009, Siegfred Baniaga Ngoloban was laid to his final resting place near their home in Tawang, La Trinidad, Benguet. He was a fireman. Or, if you are a stickler for official job titles, he was a Senior Fire Officer.
Today, 14 October 2009, Senior Fire Office Richard Balusdan will reportedly also be laid to rest.

My first post after a year of sabbatical from the internets. My apologies for the long silence. Let’s just say that I spent a year wandering in the wilderness. It’s good for the soul, actually. Hehe.
So I was watching American Idol last night and one of the contestants sang a song about the boondocks. I must say that I fell in love with the song because it goes,
I feel no shame
I’m proud of where I came from
I was born and raised in the boondocks
One thing I know
No matter where I go
I keep my heart and soul in the boondocks
We’ve been talking about the song, Nan Layad Nan Likhatan, in our other blog [here and here] but we haven’t uploaded any video performance of the song. Good thing the Pe’tune Band have this video which they recorded during their performance at the Baguio Convention Center. Good job, guys.
We will upload a more soulful version of the song when we find one.
A really bad news from the boondocks. Let’s hope authorities will be able to rescue these trapped miners. Meanwhile, our condolences to the families of those who, because of Typhoon Nina, died in unrelated separate incidents.
