Here’s an interesting video of Marky Cielo doing a report on food security from Ifugao. I guess this is only a part time gig with Reporter’s Notebook, a GMA news and public affairs program, but let’s hope that the GMA management can give him more projects like this. He acquitted himself well, I must say. [Hallo Reporter’s Notebook, can you make Marky a regular reporter or something?]
About the video itself, I think it did a good job of reflecting the Cordillera food situation in general. What do you think?
I’ve long enjoyed numerous conversations with Gina so I’m really glad that she’s bringing her insights to the blogosphere. Let’s welcome her and i-link na rin natin ang kanyang blog 🙂
My friends, this is Trublue III. He is Trublue’s grandson, future Igorot/iCordillera advocate (unnecessary child pressure ba ito hehe?), and future Tiger Woods.
Trublue III’s grandfather needs no introduction around here and in other Igorot/iCordillera blogs but I’d like to state for the record that the grandpa is one of the reasons why we Igorots/iCordilleras have a lively corner in the blogosphere.
Remember the Smart School Program we first blogged about last year? Smart added Ifugao Provincial High School, Madella Comprehensive High School, Banaue Central School, and Lagawe Central School in the list of schools it is supporting in the Cordilleras. Actually, I’m not sure if Smart is still supporting the other schools it supported last year as we hoped it would but it’s good to know that it is now extending help to other Cordi areas as well.
The video shows the principals of the above schools talking about the Smart program’s positive impact on their students.
Here’s something that I should have uploaded two months ago but haven’t because of my problematic internet connection. Well, it’s better late than never. Thanks to Imie Belanger who forwarded us this statement from the Benguet Federation of Hongkong. I must say that these are timely [and timeless] words of caution/advise/tips to those of us who are looking for jobs overseas.
