Public Servants and Heroes: Siegfred Ngoloban and Richard Balusdan

Yesterday, 13 October 2009, Siegfred Baniaga Ngoloban was laid to his final resting place near their home in Tawang, La Trinidad, Benguet. He was a fireman. Or, if you are a stickler for official job titles, he was a Senior Fire Officer.

Today, 14 October 2009, Senior Fire Office Richard Balusdan will reportedly also be laid to rest.

Trapped 700 Feet Underground

A really bad news from the boondocks. Let’s hope authorities will be able to rescue these trapped miners. Meanwhile, our condolences to the families of those who, because of Typhoon Nina, died in unrelated separate incidents.

At least five people were killed as Typhoon “Nina” ripped through Northern Luzon on Sunday and Monday, reports from the Office of Civil Defense in the Cordillera and the Ilocos showed on Tuesday.
