Kalinga leaders condemn the Diasen killing. In a resolution issued by the Provincial Board, the body “strongly condemned the dastardly assassination of Hon. Rommel W. Diasen, expressing singly and collectively the sincerest condolence to his bereaved family and recognizing his outstanding achievement in public service’.” More here.

Updates on the Diasen Case

You might want to read the previous updates here. We are making another post for these updates because we are sure that there will be more developments in the future and we don’t want the original post to get really long.

UPDATE 6: Now the police is denying that it named a suspect to Vice Governor Diasen’s murder. ABS-CBN reports here. As we said earlier, the police will be serving the people better if they stop yacking publicly about their speculations and to just do their work in silence.

The Week: 04.02-08.07

NOT SO FAST iTABUKS, YOU DON’T HAVE A CITY YET. The bill converting Tabuk into a city lapsed into law last March 30 but the whiny, bratty, clubbish, “kami lang ang may karapatang maging siyudad at sa amin lang ang revenue allotment” League of Cities in the Philippines filed a petition before the Supreme Court questioning the legality of the law. Now the iTabuks will have to wait for the SC decision before they hold a plebiscite to approve or reject Tabuk’s cityhood.

We have been quite busy these last two weeks so we have not had a weekly roundup on Cordillera affairs as we did in the previous weeks. Anyways, to make up for that, we decided to do a round-up on what’s being said in the blogosphere.
