Another year has passed! Here are photos of some of the things which kept me busy in 2014.
Visited Gandang Igorota, her husband Bong, and little Xami in Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya last February 2014.
That’s me riding an elephant somewhere near Luang Prabang in Laos. I was told that he doesn’t look as big as the elephants you see in a zoo because he used to be a work-elephant who carried logs all over the country.
Okay, time to share these photos from Thailand which I took when I visited Gina (that’s her standing near the temple). As I mentioned in an earlier post, Gina was working in the town of Mae Sot. The town is not a touristy place but it is interesting nonetheless because it shares a border with Burma|Myanmar and is home to thousands of refugees and migrants.
After three years of doing nothing but sit in front of the computer (getting fat and unhealthy as a result), I know that it is time for me to take a break and do something different. So I decided to visit fellow iSagada Gina Dizon who is working in Thailand and, if my health permits, to backpack in nearby Southeast Asian countries.
My first post after a year of sabbatical from the internets. My apologies for the long silence. Let’s just say that I spent a year wandering in the wilderness. It’s good for the soul, actually. Hehe.
